Yes it was like the 1700's here last night. We got 6.6 inches of rain yesterday which had a detremintal effect on a number of trees so it was lights out.
Larry was trapped on the town side of the downed trees until this morning. Once I established that he and Colin were OK by driving down to the fallen trees and talking to the PG&E crew "Is there a guy in a white truck with a dog?" "Yes" I came home and settled in. I had my propane lantern, my knitting, a glass of wine at my side and a cat in my lap. I had a fire going, not to say it was roaring but it was going. All in all quite cozy and safe.
Larry has been working on one of the rentals on the property we're trying to sell, please God bring us a buyer before we have to start going to the food bank.
This particular unit has a pond behind it. I have purposely not introduced Colin to water as who wants a 118 lb wet dog in their car? Larry let Colin walk in the pond. Turns out Colin LOVES walking in the pond every chance he gets. I am not pleased.
This is Colin. We adopted him from the Sonoma County Humane Society. His mother is a purebred German Shepherd, his father a Mastiff (I think British Brindled based on pictures I researched). Yes he is very cute.
This is Colin showing off his $6700.10 staples from emergency surgery when his stomach flipped and he had to spend 6 days at the emergency vet in July.
And this is Colin in his awesome t shirt that covers the $700 worth of stitches he got on Saturday from possibly running through a piece of barbed wire fence.
Notice that leash? Colin may never get off it again if he keeps this kind of stuff up!
Yes he is big, his legs are as long as my arms and he weighs 115lbs at the moment. For perspective that's the back of my baby suv he's standing next to.
